Andi Dorfman Named New 'Bachelorette'

"The Bachelor" finale was filled with many ups and downs (mostly downs), a non-proposal and a mysteriously offensive confrontation in a helicopter. But, during the "After The Final Rose" segment, "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison announced that fan favorite contestant Andi Dorfman would be the next "Bachelorette."

"This is insane," Dorfman, 26, said in a video that played during the after-show. "I'm about to have a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm speechless." She also said she came on "The Bachelor" to find a husband and is still looking to find "that great love." Dorfman is currently an assistant district attorney who prosecutes gang-related crimes near Atlanta, but she'll put her career on hold to star on the show.

ABC released a statement confirming her as "The Bachelorette" and said, "While on 'The Bachelor,' Andi revealed that she doesn't want an ordinary love. She longs to find a great love like the one her parents share and her newlywed sister has found. She isn't sure what has kept her from finding it, but she is sure she wants to keep on trying."

Dorfman made waves this season when she spent a night with most-hated "Bachelor" of all time, Juan Pablo Galvais, in the fantasy suite, but then left the show the morning after. During "Women Tell All," Dorfman said Galvais was "extremely negative" and she expressed disgust at the time they spent together off-screen. Let's hope she has better luck next time.

Tune in to watch Andi Dorfman on "The Bachelorette" on May 19 on ABC. by nevel
