Taylor Swift's 'Unreal' Experience Working On The Giver By Nevel

Taylor Swift recently set down her guitar and stepped in front of the camera to film a role in 2014's "The Giver."

With a cast including Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Jeff Bridges, the superstar singer says she was blown away to be included in such a seasoned group.

"I couldn't believe it was happening to me," Taylor told Access Hollywood's Michelle Beadle at the Keds showroom in New York City on Friday. "I still can't believe I shot in South Africa and shot all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. It was unreal.

"Seriously, I couldn't believe I got to be a part of the experience. And I just tried to work as hard as I could and just throw myself into that environment as much as I possibly could and it was really long hours and it was a lot of preparation and getting into character and all that," Taylor, who is also a paid spokesperson for Keds, continued. "But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Honestly."

Though Taylor's acted before "Valentine's Day," "New Girl", filming alongside Meryl and company took the experience to a new level.

"I learned so much," she told Michelle. "It's crazy how educational just getting into a situation and doing it is.You learn so much more, because I have taken acting classes and read as much as I possibly can on it and done theater before all this started, [but] you learn more by actually doing it than you could ever learn in preparation."

Despite her impressive new film role, Taylor will soon deliver new music and her album will be as personal as ever.

"What I go through is going to be the story that I tell," she said. "I think lyrically I always try to tell my fans exactly what's happened to me in the last two years and that's thing they can expect."

"The Giver" is slated to hit theaters on August 15, 2014.
