Jena Malone Goes Without Underwear in See-Through, Gold Sparkly Dress at Hunger Games: Catching Fire L.A. Premiere
Trying to one-up Katniss? Jena Malone dared to bare at the L.A. premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Monday, Nov. 18. While Jennifer Lawrence showed off her figure in a sheer Dior Haute Couture with a strapless bodysuit, the 28-year-old actress went a step further by appearing to go without underwear in a see-through Nicholas Oakwell gown.
Malone showed off her figure in the sheer design that featured strategically placed sparkly gold paneling in the front, back and bodice. The former child actress wore her short blonde hair down in a sleek bob, and styled gold Charlotte Olympia shoes. Before hitting the red carpet at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, Malone tweeted that she had "butterflies."
The Stepmom star didn't wear the daring dress all night, however. An insider tells Us Weekly that Malone changed into a black dress to attend the after party later Monday night.
Malone joins the Hunger Games cast in Catching Fire to play super-intense, intimidating tribute Johanna Mason, who fights in the 75th Hunger Games for District 7. The actress previously told Us that she was "stoked" to get the role. "I love the first film so much, I had read the novels for the audition and my little sister loves it," she said. "There were all these elements where it was like, this could be such a cool part. And I really love Johanna Mason, I think the arc she's been given by [author] Suzanne Collins is so unique and interesting and such a gift to the actor because there's so many layers you could sink your teeth in."
The Hunger Games newcomer also has a nude scene in the sequel. Staying true to the book, Malone's brazen character strips naked in an elevator to leave an impression on Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). The actress told Us that she "couldn't be happier" with how the scene turned out.
"I think they cut it to the finite degree where it looks so amazing and you can't see anything because obviously it's PG 13, but you see enough that it's pretty, pretty hot," she said with a laugh. "It was hard because of the logistics of trying to figure out how to do a six-second strip tease in an elevator where I was wearing a jumpsuit."
But Malone added: "I was such good friends with Jen and Josh and Woody [Harrelson] at that point, that it just kind of felt like hilarious that we were doing this together. And they were super supportive and they weren't too rowdy about it."BY Nevel
