The Walking Dead' Season 4 premiere spoilers: New threat, new loves by nevel

The Season 4 premiere of "The Walking Dead" is only days away, and there's been a lot of discussion about the new direction the series is headed in. There's a new threat on the way and Rick has become a farmer, not to mention the fact the Governor is a mysterious, looming presence. Bottom line: there's a lot to look forward to.

Zap2it already got to take a look at the first two episodes of Season 4, and we're here to offer up some teases of what to expect from the upcoming premiere. For those of you who want to remain spoiler-free, don't read ahead, but for the rest of you who want us to whet your appetite, here's what you can look forward to.

1. You'll meet the new threat in premiere episode. It won't become clear exactly what that threat is until episode 2, but it definitely will rear its ugly head in "30 Days Without An Accident." Let's just say it's something the survivors have not had to deal with before.

2. The bar is set pretty high for walkers in Season 4. There are plenty of memorable walkers in the world of "The Walking Dead," but a certain one in episode 1 (you'll know him when you see him) might be our favorite yet. Somehow we're sure Greg Nicotero will be able to top it at some point, but it will be pretty tough.

3. Carol and Daryl flirt. A lot. She even calls him "Pookie" at one point. If you're as on board with their are they/aren't they relationship as we are, this should be pretty exciting news.

4. Romance is in the air. It seems like everyone has started shacking up since the end of Season 3. The real question is not who has gotten together, but rather how long any of these blossoming romances will last.

5. Bob Stookey is an alcoholic on the show. It's no secret that Bob Stookey is introduced in Season 4, but it was unclear how close his depiction in the TV series would stick to the comics. While his ultimate role has yet to be revealed, we can say that Stookey definitely still some problems with alcohol on the small screen.

6. The premiere title has to do with Beth. Emily Kinney's character has an increased role in Season 4, and she also is the explanation behind the Season 4 premiere episode title, "30 Days Without An Accident." The incorporation of that title in the episode is actually pretty funny, considering it comes at a somber moment in the episode.

7. There are some big deaths right off the bat. But to talk any more about those would be too much of a tease, don't you think?

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 premieres on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
